Oil Painting Workshop with Daniel Corey - Itinerary

Day 1: Between 4pm and 6pm would be the perfect time for you to arrive and check in. Afterwards, feel free to hang out in the garden and enjoy the breeze from the river or take a stroll to the village, just five minutes away. The Narrows Tavern, which features live music most nights during the summer, is a fun place to have a beer and get to know the locals and not a bad dinner spot either.

Day 2-4: Breakfast is served between 8 and 9am. At 9am Dan comes to Le Vatout to fetch you for a full day of plein air painting. On your first day, you'll probably stay right here in Waldoboro, away from tourists watching and asking questions. You'll determine the locations for the following days with Dan - could be Port Clyde, Marshall Point Lighthouse, Pemaquid Point Light house, or one of his favorite fishing harbours. Break when the time is right; a scrumptious box lunch provided by Le Vatout will restore you. Finally, around 4pm, critique. Afterwards, you may wish to return to Le Vatout to explore the village or to rest in our romantic garden with a cup of tea. But if the light is good and the mood is creative, paint on... and Dan will stay right with you. After all that, you'll need a hearty dinner. For solid, unpretentiously good food we suggest Moody’s Diner, a Midcoast landmark. 995 Main, a new addition to the scene, is located in a beautifully restored Victorian on Waldoboro's Main Street and specializes in fresh local ingredients and American cuisine. But if it’s your last night, be sure to visit Silver Lane Bistro. Located in a converted sheep barn outside of Warren, it’s an insider’s find, just a 10 minute drive northeast from Waldoboro. Their relaxed atmosphere, good wines and excellent home cooking make it well worth the trip.

Day 5: Breakfast is served between 8 and 9am. After breakfast take a last stroll through the garden and say good-bye. Check-out is by 11am, but don’t be sad: you have all day to explore the coast on your own - maybe even take a daytrip to Monhegan Island, the famed painters' paradise - plus you will take home new skills, plenty of memories and the beautiful pictures you painted on Midcoast Maine.
