Watercolor Workshop with Hannah Ineson - Itinerary

Day 1: Between 4pm and 6pm would be the perfect time for you to arrive and check in. Afterwards, feel free to hang out in the garden and enjoy the breeze from the river or take a stroll to the village, just five minutes away. The Narrows Tavern, which features live music most nights during the summer, is a fun place to have a beer and get to know the locals and not a bad dinner spot either.

Ineson StudioDay 2-4: Breakfast is served at a leisurely pace between 8 and 9am. Try to get ready to leave around 9:30am for the short drive to Damariscotta and Hannah's studio. She will focus the workshop to suit your specific needs and wants, with basic instruction and demonstrations interspersed. Around noon take a short break with a scrumptious box lunch provided by Le Vatout. Once you're refreshed, it's time for some focused painting with instruction interspersed throughout. Around 2pm, your official instructional period ends, but feel free to paint on in Hannah's studio or outside in her romantic garden. Or explore the twin villages of Damariscotta and Newcastle and the shops and galleries lining the harbor. Then treat yourself to dinner at The Public House, The Salt Bay Cafe with its extensive vegetarian menu, or at our favorite restaurant, King Eider’s Pub. Open year-round, they’re famous for their mighty fine crab cakes and for the celebrated Damariscotta River Oysters.

Day 5: Breakfast is served between 8 and 9am. After breakfast take a last stroll through the garden and say good-bye. Check-out is by 11am, but don’t be sad: you have all day to explore the coast on your own - maybe even take a daytrip to Monhegan Island, the famed painters' paradise - plus you will take home new skills, plenty of memories and the beautiful watercolors you painted on Midcoast Maine.

Rave, rave, a fabulous five days! My timid painter self vanished and away I went with BIG brushes and BOLD colors.  I give Hannah's workshop 5-stars (out of 5) and would do another workshop with her in a NY minute.
